Regina José Galindo was born in Guatemala in 1974.
She has had numerous solo exhibitions internationally, exhibiting in 2008 at CCE Córdoba (Argentina), Museum voor Moderne Kunst (Holland), Art Pace (San Antonio, TX); in 2007 at Caja Blanca (Palma de Mallorca, Spain), Prometeogallery di Ida Pisani (Milan), Prometeogallery (Lucca, Italy), Spazio Volume (Rome); in 2006 at Plaza Central (Guatemala), Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) and Galerie Du Jour Agnes B. (Paris).
Regina José has also participated in group exhibitions widely, including “No es neutral,” Daros Latinoamérica Collection, Tabacalera (San Sebastián, Spain); NeoHooDoo: Art for Forgotten Faith. The Menil Collection (Houston, TX); “Loss,” The Wanas Foundation (Sweden); Biennale di Alessandria – Shapes of Time; “Autopsia de lo Invisible,” MALBA (Buenos Aires); El Brinco: Bienal de Art Paiz, Guatemala, “Going Staying” at the Kunstmuseum de Bonn (England), “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” at the Museo Bellas Artes (Bilbao, Spain), Second Bienial of Moscow (Russia), Global Feminism at the Brooklyn Museum (New York). She has held residencies in San Antonio, TX, Costa Rica and Paris, and her work has been written about in Flash Art, Art In America, Bomb Magazine, Kult Magazine and Latin American Literature and Arts, as well as in EXIT – featuring 100 Latin American artists.
