Rubén Gutiérrez
Rubén  Gutiérrez (b. 1972 Mexico) received an MFA from San Carlos Academy, Nacional School of Fine Arts, UNAM, in Mexico City in 1996, and a Bachelor of Visual Arts from U.M. in Monterrey, Mexico, in 1993. Selected solo exhibitions include No Art Work is Necessarily Better Than Another at Enrique Guerrero Gallery in Mexico City, Mexico (2007); The Semantic Proximity Between Two Objects, project at Monterrey Airport in Monterrey, Mexico (2005); Bifurcation Dynamics at Forum EDADE, ITESM, in Monterrey, Mexico (2005); and Words Have No Meaning at Project Room, Suite 106 Gallery, in New York (2004). Selected group exhibitions include 10 Defining Experiments at Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation in Miami (2006); Distor at Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil in Mexico City (2006); FEMSA Collection at MARCO Museum in Monterrey, Mexico (2005); and Mexico 70 at Casa de Lago in Mexico City (2005). He also the founder of www.ObjectNotFound.org, an indepedent non-profit whose mission is to promote the knowledge and appreciation of contemporary art through the research, production and exhibition of intertextual objects, an ongoing project based in Monterrey, Mexico. Rubén Gutiérrez lives and works in Monterrey, Mexico.
